I am sad to say that I just finished my 2012 scrapbook yesterday. It's already May 2013, oh well, I guess it's not too bad, some people are years behind. I wanted to get a start on my 2013 book, but was feeling a bit uncreative. I don't use a lot of scrapbooking kits, but they are perfect for this kind of project. I needed something easy to jump start the new year's scrapbook. This kit is from Legacy Paper Arts. I bought it at one of the three scrapbook conventions I have been to in the past year. I didn't follow the directions the exact way. It included "dirt" that was to layer over the word "Dirt", but I didn't want to make a mess, as I did not have a strong enough glue to ensure it wouldn't fall off. So I used chalk instead, and used it all over the page to make it look dirty. I know that construction and 4-wheelers don't exactly go together, but my Dad works in construction and both him and my son love getting "dirty" so it fit enough for me. PS. Sorry for the bad pictures, the light was bad in my craft room today.

Just a quick post to share a scrapbook page. This is a scrapbook kit that I bought at last year's Great American Scrapbook Convention, and am just now using it. It is from Lickety Split Scrapbooks and was a lot of fun to put together. The kit came with everything you need, the paper, tabs, ribbon, and the paper peices for each of the three monsters. The only thing I did different from the instructions, is outline the title using a silver gel pen. I felt that they needed something to help them "pop" off the page a bit. Sorry you can't see that little detail very well in the picture, I took the picture with my iphone and didn't do a very good job.
I like that I was able to use some random, left over pictures from this year to highlight some fun "monster moments" of my son, Dallas. You know, like him putting his pants on backwards or chasing his brother and sister around the back yard with the water hose, LOL, never a dull moment. Materials Used: Scrapbook Kit: Monster Moments by Lickety Split Scrapbooks Ink: Basic Black from Stampin Up As I prepare for our "fireman" 5th birthday party for Dallas, I can't help but think about last year's party. Dallas' 4th birthday, was a Thomas the Train party, so we had the cake, outfit, and decorations all to match. This was the first gathering we had hosted, since our move to Denton, and we were not real sure how it would go. We invited our family, close friends, and some of the new friends that Dallas had made at his daycare. It was a beautiful day, we had a full house and everyone had a great time. I scrapbooked this page using a great page kit from Lickety Split Scrapbooks. If you like to scrap using page kits or you are looking for something fast, they have a pretty good selections. I bought the kit at the Great American Scrapbook Convention, which I look forward to attending every year. I changed the layout of the page kit, which I do most of the time. The kit as it was did not allow for the number of photos that I wanted to use. I also added the colorful foam stars, the letter stickers, and the journaling pocket. I don't like my handwritting, but think it is important to use it sometimes, so that people will know a little more about me, so I tend to tuck it away or hid my journaling on my layouts.
